Ben Crump doesn’t just have a new law school named after him; his famous friends are already giving the school money that will blow your mind!
This week, Will Smith was in Miami with a famous civil rights lawyer for the opening of the Benjamin L. Crump College of Law at St. Thomas University. People there tell us this wasn’t just a photo op.
We’ve heard that Will, funk music legend George Clinton, and Bishop T.D. Jakes worked together to raise $10 million for Ben’s new school. Will told the crowd that he was glad to be there to see something so important.
As of the naming ceremony, we were told that Crump was the first Black attorney in the U.S. to receive this honor.

As you know, Ben has become a well-known lawyer who takes on high-profile cases. Most recently, he has been helping the family of Tyre Nichols, who died last month after being severely beaten by Memphis police.

He has also stood up for Jacob Blake and the families of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. This is why he is often called Black America’s Attorney General.
Many of his clients from these cases and others, like George Floyd’s brother Philonise Floyd and Tyre Nichols’ mom and stepdad RowVaughn Wells and Rodney, also helped him in Miami.
