Nicole Keiser, a family friend, said that what happened was not like him. “Bolek left his dogs at 8 a.m. on Thursday. He said he would pick them up at 6:30, that he had already fed them, and that he would feed them again when he picked them up that night at 6:30, Keiser told News 10.
“So it would be out of character for his truck to be here without him going to the house to get the dogs. I don’t know what happened, but something did.” So that they could find the missing doctor, the doctor’s family started a search for missing people.

A few days later, on Tuesday, December 27, Dr. Payan’s dead body was found in a pond near his home. When divers and law enforcement found the body of the deceased doctor, it was under the icy water.
Authorities in the area think Payan was dead before he went missing. On December 22, the last day he was seen alive, he was last seen leaving his house, which was caught on video by his home’s surveillance system.
