Wednesday Season 2: At least in this broken part of the world, a spin-off of The Addams Family would always be welcome, and it’s not surprising that Wednesday, the oldest child, got the most attention.
In the Barry Sonnenfeld movies, Christina Ricci gave the firstborn Addams a chilling and charming performance that made her an icon. When the franchise became an animated series in 2019, the firstborn Addams was again the main character (Chloe Moretz voiced her this time).
Now there’s a new mystery show on Netflix that stars our favorite emo, which is short for “emotionally dead inside.” As promised, Wednesday gives us a lot of weird and wonderful things, along with some fabulous black-and-white outfits and unusual dance moves.
It gets inside the mind of one of the most mysterious Addams as she tries to figure out who is hurting and killing people in Jericho. We did what Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) did and looked for clues.
The show’s last episode had a couple of twists that left fans guessing about who that mysterious text was from, but that won’t satisfy our curiosity. Another season is the most obvious answer, but will there be one? Here’s what we know about season two of Wednesday.
When Will Wednesday Season 2 Be Released?
Again, it’s hard to make a guess! But if we look at the timeline of season 1, we can see that it took about a year and a month from start to finish. Filming for season 1 began in September 2021 and ended in March 2022. It took about 8 months for the show to air.
If Netflix wanted to make a second season and stuck to the same plan, Wednesday would take six months to film and eight months to edit. This would put the release date in early to mid-2024. BRB, making this future happen.
Wednesday Season 2 Cast: Who Will Return In Season 2?
We can’t imagine a second season without Wednesday and her right-hand man Thing, so we hope that Ortega and Thing’s right-hand man Victor Dorobant will want to come back. Percy Hynes White, who plays Xavier Thorpe, who she almost fell in love with, is sure to be there with her.
Even though he was turned down, the poor guy may have a chance now that Tyler is out of the picture. Or isn’t it? When we last saw Wednesday’s sort-of-boyfriend-turned-villain, he was in jail, but something tells us that the guttural growl he let out at the end could lead to a breakout. If that’s the case, we do not doubt that Hunter Doohan will wear his Hyde skin again for season two.
Also, the following must be in the Wednesday Season 2 cast:
- Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams
- Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams
- Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams
- Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams
- Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester
- Gwendoline Christie as Principal Larissa Weems
- Jamie McShane as Sheriff Galpin
- Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe
- Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin
- Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair
- Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay
The sleazy Ms. Thornhill, played by Christina Ricci, could come back because she didn’t quite reach her goals (more on that below). Larissa Weems, played by Gwendoline Christie, may have bitten the big one, but something was unclear about how she died.
It’s possible that she could come back. Resurrections happen in this world, and her story arc seemed to end too soon. The Sandman, in which Christie also stars, has been picked up for a second season, so there could be some scheduling problems.
We hope this isn’t true because Christie is as good as Lucifer and Weems, and we need both. What would happen to poor Doctor Kinbott was clear. The Hyde attack probably killed Riki Lindhome’s character, who was cut and bruised. She probably won’t be back for season two.

Wednesday Season 2 Trailer: When Can I Watch It?
Sigh. We have a long wait, but if Wednesday’s investigation has taught us anything so far, patience will pay off. We will be the first to know about all the Wednesday news, so keep checking back. In the meantime, you can watch the beautiful trailer for the first season up above.
Wednesday Season 2 Plot: What Will Happen In Season 2?
We talked about loose strings; boy, they flap in the wind. Even though she liked pain, Wednesday didn’t seem to enjoy the heartbreak she felt when she discovered that her boyfriend was the monster terrorizing Nevermore. As a double dose of betrayal, he was controlled by Ms. Thornhill, the teacher’s favorite, who turned out to be a bitter northerner with a grudge against the outcasts.
We don’t think Tyler will stay her “pet” that she controls, but we’re almost sure he got away, and we’re even more confident he’ll come back into Wednesday’s life. As a friend, a lover, or an enemy, however, has not yet been decided. Tyler actor Hunter Doohan, however, has his ideas about what will happen to his character.
In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Doohan was sure his troubled character Tyler could stay out of trouble with the law. “I think he did get away in the end. I was so happy when I saw that on the page. “Come on, don’t be dead, don’t be dead,” I said, “he said.
Tyler’s comment about his season one arc could help us figure out which version of Tyler he is (good or bad) in season two. “I think Miss Thornhill was in charge of him,” Doohan said. “Then he had to talk Wednesday into going along with their plan, which I think he did pretty well.”
If he was being used, it could mean he had a chance to make things right. That is if he can get away from Ms. Thornhill. But there could be other bad guys that you should watch out for. The show mentioned a few times that Bianca’s siren mother ran a group like a cult called Morning Songs, which could attract new members.
Bianca’s mother forced her to come along with them so that they could make a stronger case. There is space and room for them to become the main bad guys in season two. Keep an eye on this. The mystery texter is one thing that needs to be cleared up.
Shortly after Xavier gives Wednesday a brand-new phone, she gets a mysterious, threatening text message with photos of herself that look like a stalker took them. The sender is unknown, but this kind of danger will make Wednesday’s heart sing with joy.
It will also help move along the plot of season two. You are everything I ever dreamed of and more.” Keep yourself updated with all the latest news from our website Lighthousejournal.org and get all the recent updates.
