Vinland Saga Season 2 Release Date: Based on Makoto Yukimura’s manga with the same name, Vinland Saga has been a great anime since it came out in 2019. The series won the award for best anime of the year at the 6th Anime Trending Awards. It has been a fan favorite for a long time, with an impressive 8.73 MyAnimeList score.
The first season will air from July 2019 to December 2019 and will have 24 episodes. Since the Slave Arc will come after the War Arc in the first season, we can expect another 24-episode series.
Even though Wit Studio made the first season of the Vinland Saga 2nd Memorial Movie, MAPPA studio gave the go-ahead for the second season to be made in July 2021. As we’ve seen in the first season, Vinland Saga is a story based on Viking history and shows it in a way that has a lot to say.
Even though there’s still a lot to learn about the story and many new characters to meet, here’s what we know about Vinland Saga season 2, one of the most anticipated anime of 2023.
What Will Happen In Vinland Saga Season 2?
In the first season, we saw the leader of a group of mercenaries, Askeladd, kill the honorable Jomsviking general, Thors, in an unfair fight. Thorfinn, his son, was there and saw everything. He vowed to fight Askeladd in the fair battle to get revenge for his father.
But after growing up with Askeladd for years and then watching him die, he killed the Vengeful Thorfinn inside of him and lost the will to live. The first season ends Thorfinn’s growth as a character, and manga readers say that the real story has just begun.
The manga’s Slave Arc, also known as Ketil’s Farm Arc, is what Season 2 of Vinland Saga is based on. Thorfinn is a slave because he attacked Canute, the new king, for killing Askeladd at the end of the first season and taking away his reason for being.
Thorfinn has only known war as a killing machine fighting for Askeladd, but season 2 will show him a new side and give him the pain of a person who is forced to work for someone else.
We’ll probably see a changed Thorfinn with a stronger will to live. On the other hand, Canute wants to make Earth his kind of paradise. He wants to build a peaceful world, but he may hurt the story.

Is There A Vinland Saga Season 2 Trailer?
Yes, there is a trailer for season 2 of Vinland Saga, and it’s fantastic. When it comes out in June 2022, it shows a big fire that’s part of a raid, which is typical for a Viking story. It also hints at some new characters and where Thorfinn’s story might go.
The company that made Jujutsu Kaisen and the last season of Attack on Titan also made Vinland Saga. As a result, the trailer looks beautiful, especially the fire effects and the shots of the Viking strongholds. If nothing else, it’s going to be a pretty season.
