It was revealed Tuesday that the hysterical Manhattan college professor who brandished a machete at a Post reporter had been fired. She also sues the NYPD for allegedly abusing her during the 2020 George Floyd protests.
Within hours of the adjunct professor being photographed holding the blade to the veteran reporter’s neck and threatening to “chop” him up outside her Bronx apartment, Shellyne Rodriguez was fired by Hunter College.
Hunter College’s spokesman Vince Dimiceli said, “Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action.”
“Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately, and will not be returning to teach at the school.”
After the veteran Postie approached her regarding a viral video that showed the deranged art professor flipping out on pro-life students at Hunter College earlier this month, she brandished the machete and uttered the threatening remarks.
In other developments, it was revealed that Rodriguez is involved in a legal dispute with the NYPD over claims that officers mistreated her when she was detained in the Bronx in June 2020 while participating in a George Floyd protest.
Rodriguez, the primary plaintiff in the lawsuit, alleges that being zip-tied when she was taken into custody and placed in a prisoner van with 14 other protesters caused her nerve damage.
According to the lawsuit, Rodriguez was attἀcked by police as he attempted to leave the demonstration.

Police allegedly punched her multiple times in the stomach, dragged her by her hair, and pushed her face into a gate, all detailed in court documents.
After being taken into custody, Rodriguez complained to a police officer that her handcuffs were too tight; however, the officer allegedly “yanked on [her] zip ties hard and tightened them even further,” causing her to “scream out in pain.”
According to court documents, Rodriguez “felt pain with every jerk of the van during the lengthy ride” to the precinct.
She claims that the zip ties were left in place for the following two hours, causing severe damage to her wrists.

Rodriguez claims she experienced swelling and many long-term injuries due to her arrest, including bilateral thumb numbness from nerve damage.
The lawsuit states that the harm also hindered “her ability to make art.”
According to the lawsuit, Rodriguez’s charges stemming from the protest were dropped in September 2020.
According to court documents, the case will be heard again in July.
