After popping the question in the city over the weekend, media billionaire Rupert Murdoch, 92, revealed to the New York Post on Monday that he was marrying for the fifth time.
Murdoch announced his engagement to 66-year-old radio talk show personality, model, vocalist, and former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith. “I knew this would be my last,” he told the New York Post.
Jerry Hall, an actress, and Murdoch recently got divorced. In 2016, the couple tied the knot.
Via his media conglomerate News Corp., Murdoch, an Australian-born mogul, owns hundreds of regional, national, and worldwide news organizations. He helped establish and organize some of the most well-known and prosperous conservative media organizations worldwide, including Fox News.
Smith, whose late husband was the artist Chester Smith from the country genre, claimed that meeting Murdoch last September was “a gift from God.”

“I’m a widow 14 years,” Smith said. “Like Rupert, my husband was a businessman. Worked for local papers, developed radio and TV stations and helped promote Univision. So I speak Rupert’s language.”
Murdoch said he was nervous about proposing to Smith, saying he “dreaded falling in love.”
After their summer wedding, the couple said they would split their time between California, Montana, New York, and the United Kingdom.
1956 was Murdoch’s first wedding. His most extended union spanned from 1967 to 1999 with Scottish-Australian author Anna Maria dePeyster.
