Actor Jeremy Renner was involved in a snow plowing accident on New Year’s Day, causing “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries,” according to a statement released Monday night by a representative for the actor.
On Monday, Renner underwent surgery, and as of today, he “remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” said the spokeswoman.
Jeremy’s family would like to thank the outstanding medical staff caring for him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Carano and Murdock families, according to a statement sent by his spokeswoman.
They are also very moved and appreciative of the overwhelming support from his legion of devoted followers. According to prior CNN reports, the “Hawkeye” star has undergone two surgeries to treat his accident-related ailments.

After an accident, while plowing snow earlier today, Sam Mast confirmed to CNN that his son Jeremy was in critical but stable condition with injuries. “He has his loved ones there with him, and the care he receives is superb.”
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement saying that officers responded to a “traumatic injury” on Mount Rose Highway in Reno and that the actor, who was nominated for an Academy Award, was a resident of the region.
The sheriff’s office has not commented on the severity of Renner’s injuries or the possible causes of the collision. According to the insider, the actor’s loved ones plan a statement for Monday night.
According to the press statement, Renner was taken to a nearby hospital via care flight after deputies communicated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health.

Renner posted videos and photographs of himself in the snow on his verified social media accounts. His Instagram page features a year-old shot of a forest in a region that receives heavy snowfall. His caption reads, “How would you feel if your driveway looked like this?? I love it when Mother Nature decides my schedule for me.
Renner appears to be operating a snow plow in a video he took two weeks ago and included in his Instagram holiday highlights reels with the comment “pave new routes, holiday adventures.” A picture from a week ago shows a snow hill being cleared out for sledding and the caption reads, “Nearly done with sledding hill for the kids.”
