Vanna White’s Heartfelt Message for Pat Sajak’s Exit From ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Following Pat Sajak’s announcement of his departure from “Wheel of Fortune” this week, Vanna White, 66, is sending her best wishes to the 76-year-old co-host and partner in crime.

“When we started @WheelofFortune who could have imagined we’d still be at it 41 seasons later?” Tuesday, White stated in a tweet.

The rest of the message, “I couldn’t be happier to have shared the stage with you for all these years with one more to come. Cheers to you, @patsajak!”

Sajak said that this upcoming season of the NBC show would be his last in a tweet posted on Monday, announcing his retirement from the game show.

“Well, the time has come,” Sajak said. “I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”

Sajak has spent his 41-season tenure as a regular on the popular game show.

In 1982, White joined him in the program and started turning letters regularly while also supporting Sajak.

How Old Is Pat Sajak

Although it’s unknown who will replace Sajak when he leaves next year, some fans have suggested that White would take over the hosting responsibilities.

Journalist Justin Kirkland tweeted his reaction to Pat Sajak’s retirement announcement., “With the news of Pat Sajak retiring, I’d like to formally begin the campaign of getting Vanna White to take over Wheel of Fortune.”

“With Pat Sajak retiring, the ONLY smart thing is to make VANNA WHITE the new host of WHEEL OF FORTUNE! She’s already proven herself as a substitute host, everybody loves her and she can provide smooth, unbroken continuity,” someone else proposed.

After a source told Bloomberg that Ryan Seacrest “has been talking to the producers of ‘Wheel of Fortune,'” others even questioned whether or not he would be chosen as the show’s new host.

Another told the publication that although Seacrest was “the frontrunner” to take over as host, there were numerous other candidates.

White admitted in a 2021 interview with People that the idea of him not being her co-host was “depressing,” so it might be a difficult path ahead for him.

“I don’t even want to think about that. I mean, we’re a team,” She commented to the media at the moment..

“That’s depressing. I don’t even want to think about it.”

She also acknowledged in the same interview that she couldn’t “imagine” the show continuing without the two of them.

“I can’t imagine,” she admitted. “Everybody relates ‘Wheel of Fortune’ to Pat and Vanna. We’re like Ken and Barbie, you know? We’ve been in everybody’s homes for 40 years, so it would be weird having somebody else turn my letters.”
