Following a crash on Long Island on Wednesday night that claimed the lives of two young people, an alleged drunk driver was arraigned Thursday afternoon.
Two 14-year-old boys and two other teenagers, according to police, were struck by a pickup vehicle in Jericho that was traveling the wrong way on a major thoroughfare in Nassau County.
For the grieving families of the two kids who died and the two others who were injured, there was an unprecedented outpouring of support on Thursday.
To see the arraignment of an alleged intoxicated driver who police claim was driving so quickly the wrong way that the teenagers had nowhere to go, hundreds of residents of Roslyn crowded the court and waited up outside.

The wrecked automobile used to transport the four Roslyn teenagers to a night of tennis competition is entirely beyond repair.

Law enforcement officials the 17-year-old driver attempted to swerve to avoid a collision, but the right side of the automobile was severely damaged. They were seated on that side of the vehicle, two 14-year-olds.
Though they sustained internal injuries, the 16- and 17-year-old passengers on the left side are anticipated to recover fully. A mother and boy were inside the automobile, struck by their vehicles.
According to court records, the two youngsters ki!!ed were Drew Hassenbein and Ethan Falkowitz.
