Police Officer Injured in Sh00ting; Suspect Deἀd in Metro Incident!

A sh00ting in Donelson injured a Metro Nashville police officer, and the alleged sh00tter has since passed away.

On June 1, according to Metro Police, a sh00ting occurred in the 500 block of Donelson Pike just before 3 p.m.

Det. Donovan Coble, 33, a 4-year veteran of the MNPD, was called to the scene after receiving a report that Delama Casimir, 37, an armed man, was robbing cars at The Parking Spot close to the Nashville International Airport.

Coble confronted Casimir and pursued him before being wounded in the side. While Casimir took off, his partner halted to provide air.

In the immediate aftermath, investigators made an image of him public as they looked for Casimir.

The area around the sh00ting was a very active scene on the TDOT SmartWay Map. Along with numerous law enforcement vehicles, several officers could be seen with their weapons drawn.

Police activity on I-40 westbound at mile marker 216 caused the far right lane and right shoulder to be blocked. I-40 westbound at Stewarts Ferry Pike was shut down for about an hour while police investigated.

The highway has since reopened, but a short section of Donelson Pike appears to be closed from I-40 to Royal Parkway.

At about 3:30 p.m., a SWAT team from the Metro Police Department tweeted that they had located Casimir, who they said was injured, in a brush pile behind a house on Upshaw Drive “in an exchange of gunfire.”

They were both taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Coble and Casimir. Police say Casimir d!ed from his wounds while Coble is in a critical-stable condition.

The investigator, Casimir, had a Florida driver’s license with a Pompano Beach address.
