Jamie Raskin Cancer: He Announces He’s Been Diagnosed With Cancer!
Rep. Jamie Raskin, a well-known member of the Jan. 6 committee and a former manager of the effort to impeach Trump, said on Wednesday that he has cancer.
“After a few days of tests, I was told I have Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, which is a serious but treatable form of cancer, “Raskin, a Democrat from Maryland, said in a statement that he will get “a course of chemo-immunotherapy as an outpatient.”
Raskin, who is 60 years old, was chosen by his fellow Democrats last week to be the ranking member on the Oversight and Reform Committee when the new Congress starts next week.
Jamie Raskin is a national treasure—an oasis of legal integrity and intellect at a time when both are desperately needed in democracy’s defense.
I am praying for his strong and swift recovery as he undergoes cancer treatment. America needs you, Jamie.

“I expect to be able to work through this time, but my doctors have told me to avoid COVID-19, the flu, and other viruses by not being exposed to them as much as possible, “Raskin said. “After four months of treatment, the outlook for most people in my situation is good.”
Raskin’s coworkers have offered their support as he starts treatment. Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-New York, called Raskin on Twitter “a national treasure” and “an oasis of legal integrity and intelligence at a time when both are desperately needed to defend democracy.”
He also said, “I am praying for his strong and quick recovery while he is getting cancer treatment.” Jamie, your country needs you.” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, an outspoken critic of Democrats and the Jan. 6 committee, in particular, sent Raskin her best wishes on Thursday.
“Even though we often disagree, I’ll pray for Jamie Raskin. Cancer is an awful illness. I saw it kill my father, and it broke my heart. It’s good that Rep. Raskin has hope and that his type of cancer can be treated and cured, “she used Twitter.
