Neil Gaiman Divorce: Have He And His Wife Separated After 11 Years Of Marriage?
Neil Gaiman, a best-selling author of fantasy books, and Amanda Palmer, a singer who is married to him, have said they are getting divorced because their open marriage has broken down. The couple has been married for 11 years and has spoken out in the past about how strange their relationship is, but insisted that it works for them.
But in a joint statement posted on their websites and social media, they said they had made the “difficult decision” to split up. They also said they would stay in each other’s lives as co-parents committed to raising their son in a loving and caring environment.
On their Twitter pages, the statement was accompanied by a touching photo taken from behind of them holding hands as they walked through a field with their seven-year-old son Ash. Gaiman, a British author who is 61 years old, is known for his graphic novel series The Sandman and books like Good Omens and American Gods.
He also wrote two episodes of Dr. Who. In 2009, he started dating Miss Palmer, who is 46 and is one half of the “punk cabaret” duo The Dresden Dolls. In 2011, they got married. No one knows what made them decide to split up.

They have said in the past that they decided from the start of their relationship not to be monogamous. But Palmer said that when their son was four, they “closed” the open part of their marriage “for the time being.” Here’s a look at Neil Gaiman Divorce.
In an interview in 2019, Miss Palmer said, “The idea of only ever hooking up with one other person until the end of time has always scared me, and I think it scared Neil too.” She also said, “There are many open relationships, but we’re not looking for big, multiple ones. We’re just slutty, but in a nice way.”
Miss Palmer has also said that they have sometimes broken each other’s hearts by making bad decisions, but their relationship is still strong. Gaiman made headlines in 2020 when he left Palmer and their son in New Zealand during a lockdown to travel 11,000 miles to his home on the Isle of Skye.
He said that he and Palmer had been “in a rough place” before he left. He added, “I’m afraid it was my fault. I’d hurt her feelings, and we both agreed we needed some space.” Before the pandemic hit, the couple was in New Zealand for a short trip. They also have a home in the United States.
They got back together nine months after Gaiman asked for compassionate leave to return to New Zealand and waited in the hotel quarantine line. After Gaiman and Miss Palmer said they were getting a divorce on Twitter on Saturday, their fans and friends sent them their condolences.
A writer for Doctor Who named James Moran said, “I’m very sorry to hear this, and I hope you all can find the space to get through it.” Big hugs to everyone.’ Gaiman’s second wife, after Mary McGrath, was Miss Palmer. They had three kids together and split up in 2008.
