Mega Millions Jackpot Jumps To $785M After No Big Winner Was Found!

Mega Millions Jackpot Jumps To $785M: Considering that nobody on Friday night claimed the estimated $685 million Mega Millions jackpot, the first drawing of the new year would be a massive one. The jackpot will be worth $785 million for the next drawing on Tuesday night.

According to a statement released by Mega Millions early Saturday morning, no lottery ticket sold on Friday night included all six numbers that were selected. On Friday, the winning numbers were 1, 3, 6, 44, 51, and the gold Mega Ball 7.

Due to the extremely long odds of one in 302.6 million, there have been 22 consecutive drawings with no major winner, causing the jackpot to rise to its current size. To claim your share of the projected $785 million reward, you must opt to receive payments via an annuity, which will be paid out in equal installments for 29 years.

Almost always, winners request their prize be paid out in cash, which, for the next drawing, is projected at $395 million. Since a $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot was won on November 8 in California, this jackpot is the largest ever. That unprecedented sum of money hasn’t been awarded yet.

Only three times in the game’s history has the jackpot reached over $700 million, and each time the rollover reached over $1 billion, according to Mega Millions. Participating states in Mega Millions include 45 of the 50 states, DC, and the US Virgin Islands.
