Tony Khan, the founder of AEW, who bought Ring of Honor last March, told the news. “Jamin Pugh has died, which is sad. Fans knew him as Jay Briscoe, and he was a big deal in ROH from the first show until today,” Khan wrote in a tweet Tuesday night. “Jay and his brother Mark were the best in ROH and still the champions. We’ll help his family in any way we can. Jamin, rest in peace.”
Briscoe was one of two people who died in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware, said pro wrestling reporter Dave Meltzer. Since 2002, the Briscoes have been a part of Ring of Honor. Jay Briscoe has won their world title twice as a singles player.
