Anne Rices Mayfair Witches On AMC: How Many Episodes Are There In It?

Anne Rices Mayfair Witches On AMC: As winter sets in and you start to feel the cold in your bones, know that it’s not just the season. The Mayfair Witches are slowly making their way to your home as the new year begins. The new AMC series is based on Anne Rice’s novel trilogy Lives of the Mayfair Witches.

It is also called Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. This is the second TV show based on Rice’s Immortal Universe. Interview with the Vampire, which aired on the same network not long ago, was the first.

Mayfair Witches focuses on the first book in the series, The Witching Hour, and tells the story of a neurosurgeon, Dr. Rowan Fielding, who discovers that she is the descendant and heiress of a powerful family of witches who seem to be haunted by a dark spirit.

The supernatural fantasy horror show is made by Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, the show’s executive producers, along with Mark Johnson, Anne Rice (after her death), and Christopher Rice.

AMC ordered this eight-episode series and Interview with the Vampire in December 2021. Interview with the Vampire came out earlier this year. In October 2022, the network announced the release date and the official trailer at the New York Comic-Con, adding it to their long list of horror shows.

If you thought the supernatural parts of Interview with the Vampire were complicated, wait until you see what happens in Mayfair Witches. Is There A Mayfair Witches Trailer?

The recently released official trailer for Mayfair Witches might remind you of Interview with the Vampire, but there aren’t any blood-sucking zombies walking around (or are there?). It’s more likely that both stories have a dark, gothic atmosphere and a plot full of tension.

The clip gives the impression that, like her other stories, Rice’s look at witches’ lives will be through the eyes of a young, inexperienced witch who will look into the history of the Mayfair family to find out who she is.

The trailer also shows that this fantasy story will be a step above what we’re used to seeing in the genre. The cinematography is beautiful and trippy. It’s like walking through a story game.

In addition to all the fantastical settings, the series will also look at magic, mythology, secret societies, and other mysterious aspects of witchcraft. You can also watch a video clip below that promotes Rowan as “the key”:

Who Is In The Mayfair Witches Cast?

AMC put together an exciting group of actors for Mayfair Witches. The show stars are Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus), Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Jack Huston. Daddario plays the main character, Dr. Rowan Fielding, a neurosurgeon who finds out that her family is related to the Mayfair dynasty of witches.

Hamlin plays Cortland Mayfair, the patriarch of the current Mayfair family, Chirisa plays Ciprien Grieve, and Huston plays a shape-shifting entity connected to the witches’ family for centuries. Grieve is not a direct copy of a character from the original books.

Instead, he is a mix of two characters from The Witching Hour, Michael Curry and Aaron Lightner. Annabeth Gish plays Deirdre Mayfair, Rowan’s mother, who he hasn’t seen in a long time. Beth Grant plays Carlotta Mayfair, Erica Gimpel plays Ellie Mayfair, and Jen Richards plays Jojo.

What Happens in the Mayfair Witches Story?

Mayfair Witches will be based on the first book in Anne Rice’s trilogy about a young neurosurgeon from California named Rowan. Much to her surprise, Rowan finds out that she is the new heiress to a famous Mayfair family after her mother, Deirdre, who she had not seen in years, died.

As she learns more about her family’s past and history, she realizes she also has unique abilities. Rowan has to deal with a scary force in her family for generations and has been bothering them while they try to get used to her new powers and figure out who she is.

If the show is given the green light for more seasons, the following episodes could be based on the following two books in the series. Please tell your friends about this if you think it’s interesting. Go to Lighthousejournal.org for the latest updates and news about celebrities.
