Justin Kirkland Hospitalized: Justin Kirkland is a Canadian left winger who plays for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. He was born on August 2, 1996. (NHL). Kirkland was picked by the Kelowna Rockets in the fifth round, 103rd overall, of the 2011 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

He had played bantam triple-A hockey for the Camrose Kodiaks U15 AAA team in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League for two years. Kirkland played from 2011 to 2013 at the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Saskatchewan.

In the 2013–14 season, he joined the Rockets full-time and scored 48 points in 68 games, good for eighth place on the team. The Nashville Predators picked Kirkland’s 62nd overall in the third round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

They were impressed with his first year in the WHL. Kirkland had 51 points in 50 games for the Rockets in the 2014–15 WHL season, which helped them win the Ed Chynoweth Cup as WHL champions. Kirkland signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Predators on May 16, 2016, after another successful season in 2015–16.

Justin Kirkland, a forward for the Anaheim Ducks, was in a car accident on his way to Sunday night’s game against the Boston Bruins. He was taken to the hospital and stayed there for the night.

The Ducks said on Monday that Kirkland is still being checked out, but he has full mobility and is talking to his family and teammates in town. They think Kirkland will be able to leave the hospital in about two days.

“We are grateful that first responders and medical staff at UCI Health took care of Justin so quickly,” said Pat Verbeek, the general manager of Anaheim. “Justin is in a good mood, and we hope he can go home soon.”

The forward, 26 and signed with the Ducks as a free agent last summer, made his NHL debut on December 20. Nashville picked him in the third round of the 2014 draught, and he has spent most of the last six seasons with affiliates of the Predators and the Calgary Flames in the American Hockey League.
