Molly was cast as Kete in the Los Angeles version of Annie when she was ten years old. A year later, she was cast in the television show Diff’rent Strokes. She was also chosen to join the large cast of the series spin-off “The Facts of Life.”
Molly soon began to receive larger roles and many of the coming-of-age stories for which she became well recognized. Ringwald debuted as a lead vocalist on two Disney albums in 1980, a patriotic one and a Christmas record.
