John Goodman Weight Loss: How Many Pounds Did He Lose?

John Goodman Weight Loss: John Goodman showed off his slim body as he walked the red carpet at Fred Segal on Monday for the premiere of Tubi’s “The Freak Brothers.” The star of “The Conners” wore jeans, an orange V-neck sweater, and a sports coat to show off his 200-pound weight loss.

At one point, he was happy to pose for photos with co-stars Pete Davidson, wearing a Fred Segal Reverse Logo Hoodie, and Blake Anderson. Goodman, who is 69, started to change in 2007. He kept going up and down until he was around 400 pounds and decided to change his life completely.

“Back in the day, I would take three months off, lose 60 or 70 pounds, give myself a six-pack or something, and then go back to my old ways,” he told ABC in 2017. “I wanted to go slowly this time. Move, exercise. I’m getting to the point where I can’t sit still anymore.”

The star of “The Flintstones” quit drinking entirely and hired Mackie Shilstone, a personal trainer, to help him change his life. Goodman told People magazine in 2010: “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your behind and figure out what you’re going to eat next.” “I wanted to do better in life.”

The former “Roseanne” star switched to a Mediterranean-style diet, which focuses on fish, olive oil, vegetables, nuts, and fruit, and got in better shape by walking 10,000 to 12,000 steps daily. Shilstone said of Goodman’s progress, “This didn’t happen overnight; it’s been a long process.”

Goodman first showed off how much weight he had lost at the premiere of “Trumbo” in 2015. In 2018, he told AARP that it mainly was about portion control and saying, “I don’t need it.” “I just shoved everything in my mouth.”
