John Karl Fetterman was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania on August 15, 1969. Karl, John’s father, finally became pretty well-off as a partner at the insurance company Chubb and subsequently his own insurance firm. John grew up in a wealthy neighborhood of York, Pennsylvania. Both of his parents are staunch conservative Republicans.
