According to ABC News, Porter Jr. was returning from a night out to the hotel where he and Gondrezick were staying. Gondrezick was annoyed by the time Porter Jr. arrived and shut the door. The Rockets guard allegedly “beat up” Gondrezick after entering the room with the assistance of hotel security. At this moment, further facts concerning the issue are unknown.
In a statement released Monday, NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said the league is aware of reports and “gathering more information” about Porter Jr.

Porter Jr.’s run-in with the law isn’t his first. He was accused of hitting a woman and pulling her hair in downtown Cleveland in August 2020. The woman said that Porter ripped out her weave during an argument with Porter’s sister and that the Rockets guard hit her in the face in that incident. Porter was not charged in connection with that event.
He was arrested in November 2020, while still a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, for being in possession of a loaded gun following a single-car accident. After paying a $4,000 bond, he was released.
Porter Jr. was dealt to the Rockets in 2021 after a locker room tantrum in which he was enraged that his locker had been assigned to someone else. Porter reportedly began ranting and hurling food at one point, and despite Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman intervening to calm him down, Porter remained “combative.”
He was forced to clear out his locker after the event, and his teammates were told he would no longer be a member of the squad. He was traded to Houston four days later.
