Caitlyn Jenner: Caitlyn Marie Jenner was born William Bruce Jenner in Mount Kisco, New York, on October 28, 1949. She is descended from English, Scottish, Welsh, Dutch, and Irish ancestors via her parents, Esther Ruth and William Hugh Jenner.
While in high school, Jenner split her time between Sleepy Hollow High School in New York and Newton High School in Newton, Connecticut. Despite his dyslexia, Jenner was able to attend Graceland University thanks to a football scholarship.
Sadly, a knee injury forced her to retire from the sport. It was Graceland’s coach who first saw Jenner’s talent and suggested she try out for the decathlon. At the Drake Relays decathlon in Des Moines, Iowa, she came in at position five overall.

Jenner competed at the 1972 Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon. Jenner was in fifth place going into the last event, the men’s 1500 meters and needed to make up a 19-second deficit.
