AMDs Ryzen 7000 Non-X Processors Launching On 10th of January!

AMDs Ryzen 7000 Non-X Processors: AMD will release the Ryzen 7000 Non-X 65W Desktop CPUs on January 10th. Slides also include some information contrasting the Ryzen 9 7900 and the Ryzen 9 5900X in terms of performance.

On January 10, 2023, AMD will unveil three new models in its new Ryzen 7000 Non-X Desktop CPU family: the Ryzen 9 7900 with 12 cores, the Ryzen 7 7700 with 8 seats, and the Ryzen 5 7600 with 6 hearts, as we reported in our exclusive earlier this month. The Zen 4 core architecture will be featured in all three new models, with a TDP of 65W—much less than the previous series, which went as high as 170W.

AMD Ryzen 9 7900 – 12 Zen 4 Cores For Just $429 US

The AMD Ryzen 9 7900 will have a maximum clock speed of 5.4 GHz and come equipped with 12 cores, 24 threads, 64 MB of L3 cache, and 12 MB of L3 cache. CPUs will sell for $429, $120 more than the Ryzen 9 7900X.

Even though we don’t know the base clock or the boost clock, which both dropped by 200 MHz, this 12-core processor looks fantastic, and I predict that many people will soon be upgrading to this sub-$500 US 12-Core Zen 4 CPU. According to AMD, the chip will compete with Intel’s Core i9-13900 and Core i9-12900 processors.

The next Ryzen 7 7700 will reach speeds of up to 5.3 GHz and will have 8 cores, 16 threads, 40 MB of cache (32 MB L3 + 8 MB L3), and a total of 48 MB of cache. Priced at USD 329, the CPU is $70 cheaper than the Ryzen 7 7700X.

Considering its 65W TDP, the Ryzen 7 7700 appears to be clocked only 100 MHz lower than the Ryzen 7 7700X. Using a PPT multiplier of 1.375, the target TDP should be between 90 and 100W. When released, the Ryzen 7 7700 will compete with Intel’s Core i7-13700 and Core i7-12700 processors.

AMD Ryzen 5 7600 – Making AM5 Affordable For Entry-Level Builders

The AMD Ryzen 5 7600 will have a maximum clock speed of 5.1 GHz and 6 cores, 12 threads, and 38 MB of cache (32 MB L3 + 6 MB L2). The CPU will be available for $229, $70 less than the Ryzen 5 7600X’s list price of $299. The ‘X’ chip’s boost frequency is 400 MHz higher than the base clock.

In comparison to Intel’s Core i5-13600 and Core i5-12600, AMD’s Ryzen 5 7600 will be featured. From what we’ve seen above:

  • Ryzen 9 7900 12 Core- $120 US cheaper vs. 7900X
  • Ryzen 7 7700 8 Core- $70 US cheaper vs. 7700X
  • Ryzen 5 7600 6 Core – $70 US cheaper vs. 7600X

According to the presentation (provided courtesy of VideoCardz), each processor tier will have three different costs. The base model Ryzen 5 7600 will cost $229, the middle-of-the-road Ryzen 7 7700 will cost $329, and the high-end Ryzen 9 7900 will cost $429 retail.

This price point represents a discount compared to the Ryzen 7000 X-series, which retails for around $20 more. Although, consumers should know that the new Ryzen 9 7900 outperforms the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor by an average of 119% in 12 games tested at 1080p.

The Ryzen 9 7900 system used DDR5-6000 memory, whereas the Ryzen 9 5900X computer used DDR4-3600 memory for the following tests. The Geekbench 5 results for these CPUs are also available on this page.

The titles used in the study were:

  • Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
  • Borderlands 3
  • CS: GO
  • F1 2021
  • Far Cry 6
  • Fortnite
  • League of Legends
  • Metro Exodus
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  • Strange Brigade
  • Total War: Three Kingdoms Battle
  • World of Tanks Encode (1080p Ultra settings)

The two processors evaluated have similar performance specs. However, compared to the X-series devices, the newer processor will have a lower base clock, boost clock, and TDP. These are the current prices for AMD Ryzen 7000X series processors:

  • Ryzen 9 7950X – $569
  • Ryzen 9 7900X – $440
  • Ryzen 7 7700X – $349
  • Ryzen 5 7600X – $240

The debut will occur one week after the beginning of the CES 2023 exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the following year. Over the next few years, the company will share details about its technology and plans.
