Adolfo Kaminsky, who faked birth certificates and other documents to save Jewish children from the death camps during the Holocaust, died at the age of 97. The Frenchman worked in an underground lab in Paris while the Nazis were in charge.

He told The New York Times that 10,000 documents were made or changed there to help Jews get to safety. After World War II, he supported rebels worldwide and Americans trying to avoid the draught by producing fake documents.
